“It feels futuristic. There are a lot of changes, I would say the main one is the tyres. We have upgraded tires in GEN4, more downforce as well, so finally we actually have big wings and proper downforce in the car.
“GEN3 Evo was more about the powertrain, but in GEN4 there is also a big upgrade on the powertrain from 350 kilowatts to 600 in quali-mode, and in 600 kilowatts you feel a lot of acceleration, so the acceleration it’s very impressive.

“It’s very important that we move forward with the technology in parallel as the championship grows more and more. GEN4 is a big step from GEN3, but there is still scope to improve more.
“It’s very hard to say what fans will experience. For sure a much faster car, intense battles, a highly competitive grid. I think what I’m mostly looking forward to is this extra grip, this extra speed that this car will provide.”
SEBASTIEN BUEMI
“It feels like a beast. I’d say it’s modern, it looks fast, you know? Big tires, good aero and then when you see it drive or you drive it yourself, it’s pretty impressive.
“I think the biggest change is mainly aerodynamic. Obviously a lot more downforce, tyres are bigger and the car is more powerful. We’ll have four-wheel drive all the time, but a lot more power, so, it’s like a very strong, improved GEN3 Evo.

“I think it’s a big statement for Formula E to go to GEN4. I think it’s a way faster car. I guess people will see how much faster it is. It's going to go over 300 kph, it accelerates faster than a Formula 1 car, so it’s just showcasing what the new technology allows us to do with an electric car.”

“It’s a new exciting generation, the car is the biggest step Formula E have ever made out of all of the different generations we’ve had and I think that just shows how much the technology has evolved over these past years and I think people now just want to see fast Formula E cars.
“I think that’s what the public have been crying out for to make these cars quicker and faster and honestly that is exactly what the GEN4 is. It’s an absolute beast, it’s super quick, looks incredible, and I think it’s going to be a real eye-opener for everyone.
“What can the fans expect? Exciting racing. I think that’s something which is the bread and butter of Formula E. It's exciting and action-packed racing and that’s one thing which we won’t lose for the GEN4 era.

“We'll still definitely see some energy management going on in the races and that creates that action-packed, hundreds of overtakes during a race, and I think that’s really what the fans love to see and the drivers also enjoy.
“From a racing driver’s perspective I think one thing we all get excited for is just pure speed, acceleration, power, and obviously I have yet to drive the car but ultimately the numbers which this car produces are out of this world. The acceleration is going to be even quicker than the GEN3 car, the top speed we’ll see on this car is well over 300 kph and I think it’s just super exciting.”
ZANE MALONEY
“It's a whole new chassis, with more downforce than we've had in GEN3, which is nice. More power, of course and generally just a more meaty car that can go to faster circuits and will be faster everywhere.
“It's a much quicker car. I think Formula E has always been very innovative in terms of always getting better, more efficient. But now we have a big jump in pure performance, which will be nice and hopefully for all the fans watching as well, seeing the cars getting much faster will be a good thing. Hopefully we'll still have very close racing.
“It's a bit of an unknown right now. I think we’ll hopefully have something similar to GEN3 in the sense of having so many overtakes, it's very tight always and you can follow closely with the GEN3 cars.

“I think generally the car is much faster, much more technical. So from a technical point of view, working with the team, you can have a lot more influence on the car, which as a driver, you always want more influence. I think in that sense, of course, driving faster is the biggest thing that you as a driver love.”
