Active All-Wheel Drive combined with supreme handling

A groundbreaking innovation in open-wheel racing, the GEN4 introduces dynamic traction management and design flexibility for unparalleled on-track performance.

Active All-Wheel Drive: The world’s first open-wheel race car with Active All-Wheel Drive unleashes total grip. The AWD is now active in every phase of the race, giving drivers unmatched traction, agility and opportunity to overtake. Up from what we've witnessed in the GEN3 Evo with just qualifying, the race start and ATTACK MODE.
Driver Challenge: To maximise this grip, the car features unlimited traction control and Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), creating faster cornering and more grip.

The design of the GEN4

While the performance has skyrocketed, the design is now even more aggressive to match the speed, unapologetically fierce and the pinnacle of a modern racing silhouette.

Bodywork: Teams now benefit from all-new high/low aero downforce packages, giving them more opportunities to excel, a customisable race strategy and enabling them to exploit the car’s full potential on the track.

Total sustainability in an efficient race package

The GEN4 represents the pinnacle of sustainable motorsport design, reinforcing Formula E's commitment to the environment.

Sustainability Goal: This is the world’s most sustainable race car in the world’s first B Corp certified sport.
Achieving Total Sustainability: The car features 100% recyclable construction and is built with a minimum 20% recycled content - double the GEN3 Evo. The tyres feature 65% natural and recycled materials, including 30% of certified natural rubber.
