CUPRA KIRO

Silverstone,  UK
CUPRA KIRO turned heads last season as Dan Ticktum took the team back to the top step of podium. The Brit continues in that striking copper-and-yellow livery, and now a race-winner he'll be wanting even more. Season 12 sees Ticktum joined by rookie sensation Pepe Martí.

CUPRA KIRO arrived on the scene with freshness and a will to show who they are, but the team had existed since the origins of FE - and a successful start at that.

Under the name of Team China Racing, the outfit lifted the first ever title with Nelson Piquet Jr. A couple of name changes followed, including a stint with Chinese car manufacturer, NIO, and while they were unable to find that same championship-winning success of the first season, there were still some impressive drives, including Oliver Turvey scoring pole and a podium in the 2016 Mexico City E-Prix.

Dan Ticktum joined the team in the NIO days and followed them when they became ERT. The British driver showed that there was something in the team, but all was to change in Season 11.

Rebranded as CUPRA KIRO, the team were taken over by new American owners, along with actor Idris Elba, and injected some renewed energy into the outfit, and with title-winning Porsche power at their disposal, they'd become dark horses in the paddock.

Ticktum remained with the team, and the Brit was joined by German rookie David Beckmann. All eyes were on Ticktum for Season 11, and he rose to the occasion, collecting his first podium in the Tokyo race and then following this with a debut victory in Formula E in Jakarta.

After last season, CUPRA KIRO come into Season 12 with more expectations on their shoulders. The team continues with race winner Ticktum for next season, and the Brit will be joined by rookie sensation Josep Maria "Pepe" Martí.
