STAT ATTACK: The 2019/20 Formula E line-up in figures

24 racers hope to become the ABB FIA Formula E Champion in 2019/20. Lining up on the grid this season is an exciting mix of experienced motorsport legends and rising stars.

The youngest driver

At just 22 years old, Maximilian Guenther (born 2 July 1997) is Formula E’s youngest ever regular driver. Despite his youth, the Allgäu native has plenty of experience under his belt and is considered to be one of Germany’s rising stars in the world of racing. You have to look to the wider Formula E world to find a younger driver and he comes in the form of ROKiT Venturi Racing's reserve driver, Arthur Leclerc (born 14 October 2000) - the brother of Formula One driver Charles Leclerc.

The oldest driver

16 years of Formula 1 racing experience, second place in the 2008 Drivers' World Championship and numerous legendary racing duels worldwide: Felipe Massa continues to be a big name in the world of motorsport. The Brazilian racer, born in São Paulo, is 38 years old, making him the oldest regular driver on the grid – with a 16-year age gap between him and the youngest driver in the series, Max Guenther.

Last season, Massa proved that he can still hold his own on a challenging street circuit – despite his age and top-class competitors – with a top finish of third place at the Monaco E-Prix.

The most loyal driver

To date, there have been six drivers in the starting grid in all six Formula E seasons. But only four of them have been signed up to a single team the entire time: Lucas di Grassi (Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler), Sam Bird (Envision Virgin Racing), Oliver Turvey (NIO 333/China Racing) and Sebastien Buemi (Nissan e.dams). This makes these four racers the most loyal drivers, with di Grassi in the lead having completed 60 races.

The most popular driver

Sebastien Buemi has received a record 41 FANBOOST wins so far. The Swiss driver has benefited significantly from his popularity, since FANBOOST gives him a significant push with an extra speed advantage during the race. But Buemi cannot get complacent: Stoffel Vandoorne and Antonio Felix da Costa are two other fan favourites, with 15 FANBOOST wins in a row helping them to improve their ranking in the most popular driver category.

The most success driver of all time

Jean-Eric Vergne? Sebastien Buemi? Lucas di Grassi? Depending on your definition, each of these motorsport legends can be considered the most successful Formula E driver of all time.

For example, Vergne holds the most championship titles: he was the back-to-back champion in Formula E in the previous two seasons (2017/18 and 2018/19). However, Buemi has the most victories under his belt, winning 13 races. Meanwhile, di Grassi has the top overall score of the series with 737 points. And who’s hot on his tail? That’s right. Sebastian Buemi and Jean-Eric Vergne.
