Scotland’s Graham Carroll secured victory in the opening eRace of the Road to Vegas Challenge at Long Beach.
After 42 incident-filled laps, Carroll - the winner of the prestigious Formula Ford Festival in 2015 - prevailed against 19 rivals, which included some of the world's highest-ranked sim racers as well as numerous experienced real-world drivers.
Victory means Carroll currently has 55 points in the bag, followed by Peter Brljack with 48 and David Greco on 45. The Road to Vegas Challenge - which is organised by Cloud Sport - is made up four qualifying races, with the total points deciding which 10 drivers will gain entry to the Visa Vegas eRace, where they will go up against all 20 Formula E drivers for a share of the record-breaking $1million prize fund.
The Visa Vegas eRace forms part of CES, and will take place on a bespoke track, which will only be released on the day of the race, January 7, 2017.
