Last season, Formula E and Google Cloud announced a multi-year AI and technology partnership. As part of the alliance, Google Cloud capabilities are being used to power the Championship’s mission to redefine motorsport and electric racing through their technology, including Google Cloud's enterprise-ready AI platform, Vertex AI, and Gemini.
At the heart of the partnership is a mission to demonstrate AI’s potential to drive positive impact. To mark the next phase, a new ‘Strategy Agent’ built with Google Gemini will be integrated into live broadcasts, delivering tailored insights, predictions, and explanations as races unfold. Viewers will gain a deeper, more accessible understanding of race dynamics, driver performance and strategy; offering existing fans richer engagement and drawing new audiences to the sport.
The opening round of the 2025/26 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship will take place at the Sambadrome in São Paulo’s Anhembi district on 6 December. Google Cloud will also host a live event that is part of a wider initiative aiming to train 200,000 people in AI in a single day across Latin America, Capacita+ Day. This live session includes a Gemini led lesson at the convention centre on site at the Formula E race venue for 1600 students, as well as other live events happening across 50 universities in 10 countries in Latin America and via livestream. Capacita+ Day will try to establish the Guinness World Records title for the largest simultaneous hybrid AI class ever held and it’s an important milestone of Google Cloud’s commitment to train 1 million people in Brazil in AI and cloud technologies.
