Abbi Pulling on her full-time Formula E hopes after impressive Women's Test outing

"I'd like to one day be a driver in this series," Nissan rookie and simulator driver Abbi Pulling said about a potential Formula E future.

Speaking to the media during Formula E’s annual Women’s Test, Nissan's rookie and simulator driver Abbi Pulling has expressed her desire to be a full-time addition to the grid in the future.

After getting several opportunities to drive the GEN3 Evo, including at the Berlin rookie test earlier in the year, the reigning F1 Academy champion continued to impress over the two sessions held at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo, Valencia.

TESTING WRAP: What we learnt in Valencia ahead of Season 12

“Formula E is something that is really attractive, and I'd like to one day be a driver in this series,” she stated. “It's a World Championship, and it’s the pinnacle at the end of the day.

“With Nissan, we've not discussed that far ahead yet, but we're working together to get to the point where I can go on and gather some experience and keep getting better, to open up that potential if I'm able to perform.

“Obviously, that's a bit of pressure on me, but they're giving me lots of support, and hopefully that can keep progressing in the future. But at the moment, I'm purely just the simulator and rookie driver and just constantly learning, practicing a lot of the technique for the race run.”

Pulling was the quickest driver in the inaugural Women’s Test last season, held in Madrid, and continued to look rapid over the Valencia test held today. She was the first driver to break into the 1m22s all day, and looks very at home behind the wheel.

“Although [some of the race runs] don’t make you look pretty on the time sheets, it's the stuff that is important to make sure you can be regenerating enough, whilst being able to push beyond the limits and kind of keep that momentum.

“It's like nothing else I've ever done before,” Pulling said while driving the latest spec of Formula E machinery, “but it's really insightful, and when you get it right, it feels really satisfying!”

“Being more involved behind the scenes [at Nissan] is really valuable. And of course, tests like this help build those relationships and potential relationships going forward with everyone else. For me, that's how it formed with Nissan, and I've learned so much working with them. It's a big operation.”

As well as Pulling, inaugural F1 Academy champ Marta García was also on track with Lola Yamaha ABT with current series winners Chloe Chambers (Mahindra Racing) and Ella Lloyd (Envision Racing) taking part. Three-time W Series Champion Jamie Chadwick was also representing Jaguar in the test as part of her role with the team.
