TAG Heuer Porsche’s Pascal Wehrlein topped the first Free Practice 1 session of the 2025 Marvel Fantastic Four London E-Prix, avoiding a close call with Nick Cassidy (Jaguar TCS Racing) in the final stages to go top with a time of 1m08.026s.
The ExCel is a place with happy memories for Wehrlein, who secured his World Championship victory here a year ago. Although now out of contention for the drivers’ title in Season 11, as a result of Oliver Rowland sealing the deal in Berlin, it’s still a big weekend for Porsche as they aim to take the Teams’ and Manufacturers' trophies with two races to go.
Jake Dennis looked quick to finish the session in second for Andretti, with Nick Cassidy rounding out the top three. Sam Bird was fourth for NEOM McLaren – as the team prepare for their final Formula E race weekend – with Norman Nato fifth for Nissan.
As it happened…
The first session of the weekend got underway at 16:00 local time, with the unique ExCel arena back hosting the season finale. Things appeared to be business as usual, but the Lola Yamaha ABT of Lucas di Grassi came to a halt towards the end of the lap and was towed back into his garage.
As the clock passed the halfway mark, drivers were already two seconds quicker than the Julius Baer Pole Position time of last year. Both Jaguars looked quick, fresh from their double win in Berlin, with Cassidy going quickest followed by Evans as the final chunk of the 40 minute session occurred.

Red flags were deployed again for the second time with seven minutes on the clock, as di Grassi came to a stop again. He was pushed back off the track, with a clear issue on his car as the team look to be busy tonight.
Things got heard in the final minutes, as Pascal Wehrlein almost hit the rear of Nick Cassidy in the last turn. Wehrlein was on a lap, and encountered a slow moving Cassidy with the two very narrowly avoiding contact. Pascal Wehrlein was able to bounce back to top the session with his last attempt.
