FACTS AND STATS: Formula E's return to the Sunshine State and Miami

We're back in Miami after 10 years for Round 5 of the 2024/25 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. Here's Formula E in the US and the Sunshine State in numbers!

m19751_Formula-E-Miami-E-Prix-March-2015

- Formula E's 137th race takes place at the Homestead-Miami Speedway - the 17th race in the US, only topped by Germany (20)

- It's the fifth location Formula E's raced at in America after Miami's Biscayne Bay Street Circuit, Long Beach, Portland and New York City - that's more locations than any other Formula E host

- The Formula E championship arrives at Homestead with one-quarter of the current season complete. Nissan have taken control as both a team and a powertrain provider, with Oliver Rowland leading for the works team, with Taylor Barnard in second driving for the Nissan-powered McLaren team

- Nissan powertrains even locked out the front row in Jeddah race two for only the second time in their manufacturer history, nearly six years after the previous occurrence (Paris 2019, when Ollie Rowland was again on the front row with Sebastien Buemi)

- This is a reversal from Porsche and Jaguar, who won 27 of the first 33 race since the start of the GEN3 era. They are now winless for three straight races for the first time since the end of the GEN2 era

- Nissan have 47-point advantage over Stellantis in the Manufacturers’ World Championship, but it is tremendously close in the Teams’ World Championship, with Nissan, NEOM McLaren, Porsche and DS PENSKE all separated by just five points

- There are five drivers on the grid this weekend who raced in Miami when Formula E visited 10 years ago during Formula E’s inaugural season: Sebastien Buemi, Lucas di Grassi, Jean-Eric Vergne, Antonio Felix da Costa and Sam Bird

Season 1, Round 5, Miami (FULL RACE) - gated

- Vergne took Julius Baer Pole Position with Bird in third place, di Grassi 6th, Buemi 13th and da Costa 16th, but the highest finisher was da Costa, with sixth placed in the race itself, won by Nico Prost for e.dams, which means Nissan – the team e.dams subsequently became – could win back-to-back Miami races separated by a decade

- Maximilian Guenther’s victory in Race 1 in Jeddah finally ended a 17-race run without a winner from Julius Baer Pole Position, an all-time record streak and surpassing the 13-race run set in 2022-2023

- During the final 13 races of that run the polesitter only netted 3 podium finishes, but it was ended by Guenther’s win from pole in Race 1, followed by Taylor Barnard finishing second from pole in race two

- At 20 years 259 days, Barnard became the youngest driver to start from pole in Formula E series history

- Six drivers have scored over 100 points in the USA: Lucas di Grassi (156), Sam Bird (141), Antonio Felix da Costa (137), Jean-Eric Vergne (130), Sebastien Buemi (121) and Robin Frijns (104). [Selection of those drivers in the US]

- In the first race in Miami, Renault e.dams became the first team to reach 100 total points

- This race could see both Mahindra (997) and Porsche (988) reach 1,000 points
