SEASON 11 CALENDAR: Where is Formula E racing in 2024/25?

Here is the full calendar of races that we’ll be hosting across 2024/25; from the highly-anticipated return of Miami and Jakarta, a new circuit in Jeddah, and bringing back lots of familiar favourites, here’s every location we’re set to visit this season.

JL109771-2

It’s not long now until Season 11 is upon us, with pre-season testing soon to get underway in Madrid. However, fans of Formula E don’t need to wait much longer for our first race of the exciting GEN3 Evo era, as things kick off for Round 1 in São Paulo in December.

Here's a rundown of the all-important dates across the 2024/2025 season which sees Formula E once again race around four of the five most populous cities on the planet.

Testing takes place in Madrid

Following the devastating floods in Valencia, Formula E’s pre-season test will now take place at the Circuit del Jarama in Madrid. Both the official test and the Women’s Test are scheduled for this week, Tuesday 5 to Friday 8 November 2024.

While it may have been possible to go ahead logistically in Valencia, it is important not to create any distraction or use valuable resources that are much better served supporting the local community.

The pre-season test is an important moment as it allows us to check the new GEN3 Evo cars for safety, and also to establish that we can safely and effectively deploy new technologies.

It will be the first time we'll see all the teams on track together with their new GEN3 Evo machinery, putting that rapid race car - capable of 0-60mph in just 1.82 seconds - through its paces around the Circuit del Jarama.

São Paulo starts our season

The 2024/25 season will start in São Paulo on Saturday 7 December 2024, marking the first time that Brazil has played host to the Formula E season-opener. The Anhembi Sambadrome is a great circuit in the heart of the Brazilian city, and has provided us with some nail-biting races over the years.

With three long straights connected by tricky chicanes, sweeping corners and tight turns, the circuit in São Paulo is a challenging lap for the pack. It’s a venue that is home to the world-famous carnival celebrations and incredible samba schools, but the Formula E grid will be bringing the party with tickets already on sale.

HIGHLIGHTS: The São Paulo E-Prix Round 4

If Season 10 was anything to go by, expect a high-speed affair that goes right down to the final corner of the final lap.

Mexico City brings the magic

Next up is Mexico, for one of the most popular races and best attended events on the Formula E calendar around the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez. The special circuit is always packed with passionate, knowledgeable Mexican motorsport fanatics who have been attending the event since it appeared on the calendar in 2016.

JL306028-3

Starting on the traditional start/finish straight, the Formula E grid completes a shortened version of the track but still ends up racing through the legendary Foro Sol stadium section on Saturday 11 January 2025.

Tickets are already on sale for the second round of the season in the new year - secure your seat now!

A first time to Jeddah

The first double-header of Season 11 will see a new track location in Jeddah on the seventh visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The races will take place on Friday 14 and Saturday 15 February 2025, with more details to follow soon.

Taking place on a modified version of the iconic Corniche Short Circuit, the 2025 Jeddah E-Prix will be set against the stunning Red Sea coastline. This move follows six successful seasons racing in Diriyah, and marks an exciting new chapter in Formula E's history since its inaugural race in Saudi Arabia in Season 5.

Welcome (back) to Miami

Miami is back on the Formula E calendar after the iconic city hosted its first race back in the inaugural season. Now in the GEN3 Evo era, these brilliant race cars are set to stun the fans with wheel-to-wheel racing at the Homestead Miami Speedway, a regular fixture on the NASCAR calendar.

Homestead-Miami Speedway has played host to the likes of NASCAR, IMSA and IndyCar over the years and is now set to become Formula E's latest US race location. The now-oval course incorporates the original technical infield road course, with all the ingredients for a brilliant debut.

Andretti and DS PENSKE - as well as newly-American acquired Kiro Race Co - will be looking to put on a show for their home fans on Saturday 12 April 2024. Formula E's last visit to Miami saw Andretti score a podium with Scott Speed who remains the only American driver to stand on a Formula E podium.

Doing to the double in Monaco

Steeped in history, the Circuit de Monaco runs along the streets of Monte Carlo and features some of the most iconic corners in motorsport – La Rascasse, Casino Square and Grand Hotel Hairpin to name a few. The full 3.3km with its steep hill and high-speed sections will again put the field's energy management skills to the test. Monaco always throws up Formula E at its best. And yes, it's evident you can, in fact, overtake around the streets of Monte Carlo given the right tools like our all-electric machines.

For the first time, Monaco will host a double-header of back-to-back Formula E racing in the Principality on Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 May 2025.

Two in Tokyo

After an incredible debut in 2024, Formula E will be delivering double the action with racing across two days as Tokyo is increased to a double-header weekend in May, setting off a trio of races across Asia.

JL207605

The challenging 18-turn, 2.582km street circuit will surround the Tokyo International Exhibition Centre – the largest venue in Japan also known as Tokyo Big Sight. Hosted over Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 May 2025, the circuit is a challenging layout that includes three notable straights, technical sequences of tight corners, and high-speed combinations set against the stunning Tokyo metropolis backdrop.

Tickets sold out quickly for Formula E's first visit to Tokyo, register now to hear first about tickets for the Tokyo E-Prix double-header.

Shanghai makes a return

China returned to the calendar in Season 10 and Shanghai will again host another pair of races at the end of May across Saturday 31 May and Sunday 1 June 2025.

The Shanghai International Circuit was conceived by renowned designer Hermann Tilke, who has been responsible for some of the most famous race tracks in motorsport. Designed for top-tier motorsport global events, the circuit features a challenging combination of high-speed straights and tight corners.

This track offers plenty of opportunities for overtaking – making it the perfect place to showcase Formula E’s unique brand of racing.

Jakarta re-joins the calendar

Season 11 will see another returnee in our diaries. After a season away, we'll be heading back for more jostling in Jakarta. Get set for rising temperatures both in the air and on track as the field gets set for more wheel-to-wheel action in the Indonesian capital, with the E-prix due to take place on Saturday 21 June 2025.

FRR THUMB R11 JAKARTA

A favourite among lots of the grid, Jakarta is one of the most challenging races we experience and always makes for an incredible show.

Back in Berlin

We return to Europe for a pair of double-headers to close out the season in July.

First up is Berlin on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 July 2025, which maintains its accolade of being the only city to be present on the calendar since the first season as the drivers get set to tackle another double-header in Tempelhof.

Located at the historic Tempelhof airport, this track is made up of repeating concrete slabs designed for planes rather than a field of all-electric single-seaters. We're talking highly abrasive and a lot of work for the teams and drivers as they deal with the energy management along with some tyre wear and throw in some hot temperatures.

Closing with a classic in London

Finally, it's the curtain closer in London, with a double-header weekend. With so many of our seasons witnessing a championship crowned in the final race, you won’t want to miss this race in the British capital.

JL102822

We're back at ExCeL London featuring a unique track that weaves its way both inside and outside of the exhibition centre and around the historical heartland of the Royal Docklands. With changes in the surface and elevation, as well as the shift in lighting, the field faces a unique challenge thanks to this half indoor and half outdoor circuit.

Make sure you pick up your tickets soon, and join us for a season finale like no other on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 July 2025
