Andretti announced this week that Mueller would make the switch to the American Porsche customer outfit for Season 11 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, driving the 99X Electric.

The move sees Porsche further expand its programme in the world's leading electric race series. The 32-year-old joins three of the most successful drivers in the field of late: his new team-mate and 2022/2023 World Champion Jake Dennis, as well as reigning World Champion Pascal Wehrlein and Antonio Felix da Costa as the driver with the most wins last season - both from the works TAG Heuer Porsche team.

Whether and in which other racing series Nico Müller will compete for Porsche Motorsport is currently being planned and will be announced at a later date.

“Being a Porsche works driver is a childhood dream come true for me," says the Swiss. "When I first came into contact with Porsche, I immediately realised: this is something very special. As a racing driver, Porsche is the brand you look up to. To be able to represent Porsche now is a great honour that fills me with a great deal of pride.”

The Swiss has competed in Formula E since the 2019/2020 season, sitting out only the 2021/2022 campaign. Season 10 saw his best result to-date with 12th overall for ABT CUPRA in the Drivers' standings and a best of fourth in Shanghai - narrowly missing out on the podium.

“Welcome to the Porsche family, Nico Muller!" says Thomas Laudenbach, Vice President Porsche Motorsport. "We are delighted to welcome another professional with such extensive and varied motorsport experience to our squad. Nico has already successfully demonstrated his skills in various challenging racing series.

"Among other things, he has won the Nürburgring 24 Hours and was twice runner-up in the DTM. We initially expect his expertise in formula racing to play a crucial role for Porsche’s Formula E programme. We will announce at a later date whether and in which other series Nico will also drive for Porsche.”
