FP2 REPORT: Frijns quickest in London practice

Envision Racing's Robin Frijns found himself top of the timesheets ahead of qualifying.

Robin Frijns in his Envision Racing machine was at the top of the times for Free Practice 2, as the Jaguar TCS Racing powertrain looks strong. Fresh from his back-to-back podiums in Portland, Frijns will be hoping to make it three in a row at the team's home race in London.

Briton Oliver Rowland (Nissan) was second, with Sebastien Buemi (Envision) in third. The Envision team claimed the Teams' Championship at this race last year, and look strong around this special circuit.

RESULTS: The full Free Practice 2 classification ahead of the Hankook London E-Prix Round 15

Championship leader, Jaguar's Nick Cassidy, was in fourth with TAG Heuer Porsche's Pascal Wehrlein in fifth - as the two fight for the title. Other championship contender Mitch Evans (Jaguar) finished in seventh.

The session saw all the drivers pushing their cars to the limit, with drivers coming so close to the walls and riding over the kerbs. The London ExCel circuit is certainly very different to our recent rounds in Shanghai or Portland!

The last 10 minutes of the practice session saw Nissan’s Oliver Rowland have a spin on the entry into the ExCel building, but was able to get back on track in style. The change of surface from the outside part of the circuit to what’s inside is a unique challenge to top level motorsport, with this circuit being half indoor-half outdoor.
