It’s been a whirlwind first half of the season for Nick Cassidy. The Jaguar TCS Racing driver joined the team at the start of Season 10, after previously racing for customer team Envision. Racing alongside long-time friend and former teammate Mitch Evans, the driver line-up was labelled as one of the strongest Formula E had seen.

Things got off to a great start in the new colours for Cassidy, as he achieved three podiums on the bounce. Two third place finishes across Rounds 1 and 2 were trumped by a victory in Diriyah. However, as we have seen all too often in Formula E, the tables can quickly turn.
São Paulo was a disaster, with front wing damage causing Cassidy to plough into a barrier around the Anhembi Sambadrome. This was then followed by an eighth place in Tokyo after an impressive climb from 19th on the grid, followed by another zero point DNF in Misano.
But, since the second of the Misano double-headers, Cassidy has got back on track and is now on a roll of podiums. Silverware in Italy, Monaco and two in Germany means he sits top of the standings with seven podiums and 140 championship points.
With TAG Heuer Porsche’s Pascal Wehrlein the championship leader going into Berlin, Cassidy took over the top spot after his impressive victory around the Tempelhof Airport Street Circuit. Despite running in 21st at one point of the race, he managed to save energy and pull off a strategy masterclass to seal his seventh career win.

Asked if he was expecting to secure first place and lead the standings after Saturday’s Berlin event, he answered: “I was not, but it's always a really nice thing to hear.
“It’s a fantastic day when it's like that. We take them. Just awesome. Today, I feel like we had a fair bit of luck. I didn't feel too competitive. We've got some work to do, but the team is pushing and we're not giving up. Everyone's working super hard.
“I've been lucky. I'm aware of that but I'm aware that days like Misano [where I didn’t finish] can happen as well. That's part of the game; it makes us smile and it makes us frown but we push on and enjoy the roller coaster.”

Mitch Evans also missed out on the opportunity of a podium, despite coming close across both 2024 SUN MINIMEAL Berlin E-Prix races. For Round 9, Evans was forced to settle with fourth place whereas Round 10 saw him pick up sixth.
“We managed the race the best we could today, but honestly, it’s about survival in some of these peloton-style races,” Evans said about his fourth-place finish. “P4 is still solid but I do feel a bit disappointed that I haven’t finished on the podium today, I felt strong in the pack I was racing, and we were in a good position energy wise.”
