Nissan’s Norman Nato set the quickest time with a 1m10.765s, in the first practice session of the season finale weekend in London. His teammate and birthday boy, Sacha Fenestraz, joined him in the top three. Sandwiched between the two Nissans was Season 2 champion Sebastien Buemi (Envision Racing) and just 0.006s off the top spot.
RESULTS: The full FP1 classification
Teams were getting to grips with the newly-modified circuit, pushing their cars to the limits early on. NEOM McLaren’s Jake Hughes and Maserati MSG Racing’s Maximilian Guenther both explored the track limits, with both of them going down the escape road at the chicane during the 30 minute session.

The Envision Racing and Jaguar TCS Racing cars are expected to be strong this weekend, and started well with Sebastien Buemi (Envision) topping the timesheets for most of the first 15 minutes. However, soon enough his teammate Nick Cassidy went faster, with the Kiwi in the championship fight this weekend.
However, it was Nissan’s Norman Nato who stole the FP1 crown as he finished the session with a time of 1m10.765s. The Frenchman is fresh from a podium finish in Rome, his and the team’s first this season.
Maximilian Guenther finished the session in fourth, with another championship contender Mitch Evans (Jaguar) in fifth. Nick Cassidy, who is currently second in the Drivers’ World Championship, ended up in eighth with standings leader Jake Dennis (Avalanche Andretti) down in 11th.
