Smith has become a loyal fan of the racing series since he attended a Formula E race in New York last season. However, he has now had the opportunity to take that love to the next level with the world’s most sustainable sport in making this special and profoundly personal design. The concept debuted earlier today, so fans of the MLS team Portland Timbers got a sneak peek of the car outside the home stadium Providence Park ahead of the Chicago Fire game.
The themes that Jaden opted for include the likes of world history, mathematics and physics, all subjects that captivated him when in academia. There’s also the addition of Mystery School, the star’s library and learning centre that serves as a platform for guest lecturers to educate the community on various topics from sustainability to mathematics.
These themes are also understood and mirrored by Formula E through their FIA Girls on Track Programme, UNICEF partnership, legacy sustainability projects and community engagement in its race cities.
This weekend Formula E heads to Portland for the first time in its championship history. Racing around the iconic International Raceway in the city, the circuit measures 3.13km and is one of the longest tracks on the calendar. It’s a location known for hosting brilliant American motorsport, including IndyCar and NASCAR, but it will take on a new life when the grid of 22 drivers take to the track in their electric race cars.
The thousands of fans attending the Southwire Portland E-Prix this Saturday will also see Jaden Smith’s design up close and personal, as it will proudly be displayed in the Allianz Fan Village.
Ensure you don’t miss out on the fantastic action-packed race day this Saturday. Tickets are available to purchase here.
