Formula E celebrates Pride Month

Throughout June, the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship will proudly celebrate LGBT Pride Month. The championship believes that its staff and ever-growing fanbase must be comfortable being their true selves and feel empowered to embrace their authenticity and diversity.

Over the month, Formula E has organised several activities for its internal team to inspire, educate and support their local LGBTQIA+ community. This continued promotion of inclusivity in the workplace has always been a vital part of the championship’s DNA.

Racing Pride, an innovative movement to positively promote LGBTQ+ inclusivity within motorsport, will host a panel discussion for all Formula E employees in June. This session will be fronted by three of Racing Pride’s ambassadors and offers a supportive place of learning, understanding and sharing to champion their LGBTQIA+ colleagues. Racing Pride was launched in 2019 and has become a well-recognised and celebrated initiative in the motorsport space.

In addition to the panel, Formula E has also announced a relationship with 245 Hammersmith. The unique collaborative space, located extremely close to Formula E’s London headquarters, actively supports the local LGBTQIA+ community. Formula E and 245 Hammersmith will collaborate on various initiatives and events over the year as part of an ongoing partnership.

Formula E has helped create a safe and open space for its employees since its inception. Highlights in the last 12 months include introducing a multi-purpose room which is a space for all, forming an Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (ED&I) network and integrating inclusivity topics in mandatory staff training. In addition, Formula E employees can use gender-neutral pronouns when using the company’s HR platform, and it has worked with sponsors like DHL to produce thought-provoking content.
