The Raval will be built from 2025 at the company's Martorell factory in Spain and becomes the third new all-electric vehichle from the manufacturer after CUPRA pulled the covers off its new, production-ready Tavascan performance-focused SUV ahead of the 2023 SABIC Berlin E-Prix. That car itself followed on from its first EV, the CUPRA Born.
The front-wheel drive urban electric car uses the Volkswagen Group’s MEB Small platform. The 4.03m long vehicle is typically CUPRA with unique, extreme bodywork and styling with a low drag coefficient to improve aero efficiency.
According to CUPRA, the car as it stands is 95% representative of the final production car with only minor tweaks to the likes of door handles and mirrors to come. CUPRA have also made use of innovative 3D printing and 3D knitting manufacturing methods in putting the Raval and its futuristic interior together.
Lightweight design both in the exterior and interior help the vehicle’s 226PS (166kW) electric motor and battery pack push the urban electric car to 100km/h (0-60mph) in just 6.9 seconds and give it a range of up to 440km (273 miles) of range.
“The UrbanRebel is more than just a car to us. This is the model that will democratise urban electric mobility. Accessible and sustainable, this will be the next generation’s entry into our range.”, said Wayne Griffiths during the Impulse event.

“The car is a deliberate statement. I think there’s a need out there to do a car for the next generation who are really enthusiastic about cars - and that’s what we do at CUPRA," added Griffiths in conversation with Auto Express.
“We do cars that people love, but not necessarily what everyone likes - we like to provoke so this is a provocation, obviously overstating what we will end up doing as a series car. But it’s very close; if you take the tail off the back then you’re very close to where we are on the series design.
“So the Cupra Rebel will stay very rebellious in the series car - it’ll be very sporty. The inspiration will remain on the series car and we will bring that in 2025.”
