Citroën Racing secured an emotional podium in Tokyo, a week after the sudden passing of their Team Principal Cyril Blais.

The Formula E paddock has been coming together in support this week, after the devastating loss of the Citroën Racing Team Principal Cyril Blais. It’s been a tough week, with a minute’s silence observed on the grid ahead of Round 14 yesterday.

Citroën’s Nick Cassidy managed to finish third on the podium, having started in seventh. He spoke about the emotional achievement after the first race of the 2026 TDK Tokyo E-Prix double-header weekend.

“I don't really know how to feel,” Cassidy explained, “because Japan's been a very special place for me and where I've built my career. I've just wanted a great weekend and great results for me since we started coming here. It's hard in a way, I want to celebrate and in another way I was breaking down.”

Cassidy dedicated his podium result to Cyril, and Blais’ family and friends. Race winner Dan Ticktum (CUPRA KIRO) also did the same after his victory, with the whole paddock sending their thoughts to those impacted by the loss.

“I’m really proud of the team for achieving this podium here in Tokyo,” Beth Paretta, MSG’s Managing Director added. “It has obviously been a very difficult week for everyone, but the way the whole team came together has been incredible. We are all so pleased to have earned this podium with Nick. Hopefully, we can carry this momentum into tomorrow and do it all again.”
