The 2026/27 Formula E season welcomes three new tracks to the calendar: Circuit of The Americas (COTA), Brands Hatch and the MASCOT Zandvoort Circuit.
All three tracks have a rich motorsport history and distinct personalities, making them perfect destinations for the GEN4’s debut season.
SEASON 13 CALENDAR: Where will Formula E be racing in 2026/27
Circuit of The Americas, also just referred to as ‘COTA’, is a circuit that many motorsport fans will know well, having been a regular fixture on the Formula 1 calendar since 2012. The track, set in the rolling hills outside of Austin (Texas), was purpose built in 2010-11 by circuit designer Hermann Tilke, who was also the mastermind behind the Shanghai International Circuit, among others.
Featuring massive elevation changes, the circuit borrows the best elements from other iconic circuits, creating what is widely regarded as one of the best modern tracks in world motorsport.
The ABB FIA Formula E World Championship is no stranger to racing in the United States, having raced in downtown Miami for Round 5 of the inaugural season. Since our first visit across the Atlantic, we’ve had stints racing in Oregon, New York and California, before returning to Miami in 2025 to race at the iconic Miami International Autodrome (Hard Rock Stadium).
At the 2026 Miami E-Prix, Jaguar TCS Racing’s Mitch Evans achieved a historic 15th career Formula E victory after starting from 9th on the grid in damp and challenging conditions. The E-Prix itself was highly eventful, providing the local Floridian fans with a race day to remember. Miami remains on the calendar for the 2026/27 Formula E season, the race taking place a fortnight after Round 4 in Austin.
EXPLAINED: Formula E's new sporting format for the 2026/27 season
The Circuit of The Americas presents drivers with a fresh challenge. While a few drivers have raced here before in Formula 1 or the FIA World Endurance Championship, everyone will have to adapt their approach behind the wheel of the all-new GEN4.
