The official road to Season 12 kicks off with official pre-season testing in Valencia, Spain, from 27-30 October 2025.
This four-day test will be the first time all teams take to the track for Season 12 as they push the latest evolution of their machinery - the GEN3 Evo - to its limits around the iconic Ricardo Tormo Circuit. Teams will be dialing in their newly homologated powertrains on the rapid race car, which is capable of going from 0-60 mph in a blistering 1.82 seconds!
Building on the success of last year's inaugural Women’s Test, the track action will continue on Friday 31 October, offering a powerful look at the future of racing talent.
Valencia's Circuit Ricardo Tormo is a familiar pre-season stop, having hosted the official Formula E test for the last eight years. The lap begins with a long straight into a high-speed, sweeping left-hander. Then, cutting into the technical in-field section, it is unlike a typical Formula E track, so drivers must watch out for track limits. Closing out the lap is a long continuous left-hander as drivers fight for grip braking over a crest. This feeds into a final chicane, added specially to the start/finish straight to mirror the hard braking needed for street circuits, with the sharp walled bends firing the drivers out towards the finish line to complete a lap of the 3.37km circuit.
Developed by specialists from Formula E and the FIA, the GEN3 Evo marks a significant leap in electric racing technology, with acceleration 0-60mph 30% faster than a current F1 car, and 36% faster than the GEN3 car.
Capable of accelerating nearly a full second faster than its predecessor – the GEN3 – that was the world’s first race car designed for street racing, it sets an even higher standard in performance, sustainability, and efficiency. The GEN3 Evo serves as a formidable ambassador for the future of motorsport, embodying cutting-edge advancements and a commitment to environmental responsibility.
