The Anglo-Indian team heads stateside this weekend, 29 & 30 June as the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship returns to action in Portland, Oregon at the Portland International Raceway.
After season-best showings in Berlin and Shanghai last time out, the Banbury-based team touch down in the USA with momentum on its side, and with the aim of a repeat performance to keep the run of form going to the end of Season 10 in London next month.

But in prospect first is Portland International Raceway. At two miles long, and characterised by long straights, chicanes and both high and medium-speed corners, it’s among the most challenging venues on the calendar, and always delivers action. Last season’s E-Prix featured 403 overtakes – more than 12 a lap. So, plenty of opportunity for teams and drivers to capitalise.

New for 2024 is the expansion of the event to a double-header. After an opportunity to shake the cars down and practice on Friday, Saturday and Sunday follow the usual format – one practice session, the all-important qualifying and Duels, then the E-Prix in the afternoon.
Portland races to be 'extreme' says de Vries
Looking ahead to his first Formula E appearance in Portland, Season 7 World Champion Nyck de Vries - after scoring maiden points on his Formula E return, and of the season in Shanghai, said: “After our strongest weekend of the season so far in Shanghai, I’m looking forward to getting back in the car and continuing our development this weekend.
“Last year, Portland produced a very extreme race, so I’m sure there will be a lot to contend with, but also some opportunities for us to make progress and pick up some points.”

With one eye already development and the team’s future in GEN3 Evo, Edoardo Mortara added: “I’m feeling really good and looking forward to getting back to racing in Portland. There’s no doubt it’ll be action-packed after the racing we saw there last year.
“There are only two weekends left to go in the season, and four races. There’s a lot of work to do in that time to get us prepared for Season 11, but I’m feeling re-charged and ready for one last push.”
Duels, then points, says Bertrand
Giving his take ahead of the weekend, Mahindra Racing CEO and Team Principal, Frederic Bertrand, said: “The season has passed so quickly; only four races left to go, starting in Portland this weekend, and we’re arriving with plenty of motivation after a good weekend in Shanghai.
“Our first objective is always to qualify for the Duels, which we have now done five times this season, and will be aiming to do again this weekend.
“We’ve also started putting points on the board consistently, which is a very positive step, and it’ll be exciting to see what we can achieve between now and the end of the season, as a platform for GEN3 Evo and beyond.
“Portland produced some incredible racing last year, and I’ve no doubt it will be equally as action-packed this time around.”

The 2024 Hankook Portland E-Prix gets underway on Friday 28 June with Free Practice 1 at 17:00 local time.
Then it's straight into the first race day of the double-header on Saturday 29 June as Free Practice 2 kicks off the day at 07:30 local, followed by qualifying at 09:40 local with lights out on Round 4 at 14:00 local/21:00 UTC.
For Round 14, the same schedule applies: Free Practice starts at 07:30 on Sunday 30 June, followed by qualifying at 09:40 local time and the race at 14:00 local/21:00 UTC.
All race sessions will be shown live on Roku in the USA. Highlights will be shown on CBS Sports Network.
