Lucas Mueller made his way out on-track this week alongside his racing hero Pascal Wehrlein for a chance to glean some pointers and go head-to-head, with the sim racer taking it to the ABB FIA Formula E driver at a virtual Tempelhof in Berlin.
Mahindra Racing’s Wehrlein led Mueller away and toured his compatriot around ‘home soil’, at a virtual representation of the German round on the Formula E calendar.
Mueller wasn't about to take it easy, though, and the Challenge Grid competitor – four times on the podium and once a race-winner – stuck it to Wehrlein in a quick duel over a couple of laps, though he did have the luxury of being granted pole position!
The Indian team has been quick to throw their full support the way of Mueller, who, though not heading the way in the Challenge standings, has impressed so far in the series – sitting third ahead of the winner-takes-all finale on Sunday (15:30 BST).
The 19-year-old, who first got behind the wheel of his rig in 2018, received a special delivery of Mahindra gear from the squad to help give him the edge this weekend as he seeks to topple current leader Kevin Siggy, who holds a 53-point advantage in the table.
Just woke up and received this 😇
