Formula E is teaming with FOX Sports to produce and supply a new global magazine show for rights-holders to complement live race coverage.
The new programme will air in a preview and review format, book-ending each ePrix with unseen fly-on-the-wall access in the Formula E pitlane and paddock. The 25-minute shows will be broadcast globally across North America, Latin America, Africa, Asia and Australia.
Ali Russell, Director of Media and Strategic Partnerships at Formula E, added: “At Formula E we don’t just want to offer race coverage on a Saturday afternoon at each ePrix. We have an ambition not only to entertain but to offer content aimed at growing the championship and further engaging and educating a new audience. The new magazine show gives fans an opportunity to tune in before and after each race with unparalleled behind the scenes access.”
“Formula E continues to grow this ambitious series in a smart and calculated manner,” said Patrick Crakes, FOX Sports SVP of Programming, Scheduling and Content Strategy. “This additional programming continues that evolution, serving the existing ePrix audience and giving new fans an entry point to the series.”
“We are really proud and excited to keep on expanding our commitment with Formula E, to keep on supporting it and spreading it to millions of homes in all Latin America. This new magazine show will strengthen our motorsports programming and will allow us to engage new fans in the region by given them full behind the scenes access to this very innovative competition; we’ll show everything that there is to know about Formula E, its secrets, its motivations and every thrilling detail for those who love and are passionate about motorsports,” said Felipe McGough, VP Production and Programming FOX Sports 3 for Latin America.
