“The design of my race helmet from my first ever race was done by me. Obviously when I was younger I had help from my older brothers and later it had to be approved by my sponsors, including Red Bull.
“I have 100 per cent influence on the layout and design but have support from my designer JMD – who also creates Sebastien Vettel’s collection of helmets.
“In Formula 1, DTM and Formula E I use the exact same design but change the colours to suit the different livery combinations. I build on my on preferences to add small evolutions and make it a bit more modern.”
