Yes Theory’s Ammar Kandil partners with Andretti for Evo Sessions

Andretti Global announced today that Yes Theory and Andretti will join forces for the groundbreaking Formula E Evo Sessions, bringing the renowned YouTube brand’s ethos of ‘seeking discomfort’ into the world of elite motorsport.

As part of the partnership, Yes Theory co-founder Ammar Kandil will take on the challenge of professional racing, stepping into the cockpit of Andretti's GEN3 Evo for an immersive motorsport experience.

Kandil’s participation with Andretti Formula E in the Evo Sessions has seen him already undertake an intense motorsport training program, including simulator sessions, engineering debriefs, and physical conditioning, culminating in an on-track debut at the Miami International Autodrome on March 5-6. The filmmaker and explorer will get behind the wheel of the Andretti Porsche 99X Electric, the quickest accelerating FIA single-seater car, capable of 0-60mph in 1.82 seconds.

Yes Theory has built a global community by embracing the unknown and pushing past perceived limitations. From climbing uncharted pyramids in the Guatemalan jungle, to training with endurance athlete Wim Hof to orchestrating a bungee jump over the Grand Canyon with Will Smith – their mission has always been about breaking barriers.

Now, Kandil will take on his most high-speed challenge yet, fully embedding himself within the Andretti Formula E team to gain firsthand insight into the technical and physical demands of professional motorsport.

Yes Theory’s journey from motorsport rookie to race-ready driver with Andretti Formula E will be documented every step of the way, giving fans exclusive access through behind-the-scenes digital content and an extended documentary set for release later in 2025. The Evo Sessions event will set the stage for Andretti’s home race at the 2025 Miami E-Prix on April 12.

“First of all, it’s a huge honor to be driving for such an incredible team like Andretti," said Ammar. "I’ve spent my life chasing experiences that push me beyond my limits, and this might be the most intense challenge yet. I get the opportunity to do something that no normal civilian can do without a decade or more of training, so it’s a huge honor. I feel blessed to be entrusted in the car and with the team’s support, I’m ready to embrace the discomfort and go full throttle.”

“Ammar thrives on pushing boundaries, and motorsport is all about that mindset," adds Season 9 World Champion Jake Dennis. "It’s going to be great to see his progression as he takes on this challenge, and I have no doubt he’ll give it everything he’s got.”

What is Formula E Evo Sessions?

Over the next six weeks - ahead of the track event at the Miami International Autodrome (Hard Rock Stadium) on 5-6 March 2025 - a carefully curated collective of 11 of the world’s most-followed and popular personalities, comprising actors, athletes and content creators with a combined reach of over 300 million, will be paired and embedded within Formula E’s elite race teams and drivers as part of their preparations.

All participants will receive an intense training programme that includes simulator sessions, physical conditioning, driver coaching, hardware customisation and engineering briefings. They will experience first-hand just how tough and complicated it is to prepare, train and drive like a world-class racing driver.

In the two-day event they will have prepared for, they will experience the breathtaking performance of the all-new GEN3 Evo race car on the track, capable of 0-60mph/100 kph in just 1.82s - 30% faster than a current F1 car - as well as take part in a number of familiarisation laps to accustom themselves to the altered track layout.

The entire journey from rookie-to-racer will be captured for social-first content, through the creators’ lens, and shared across their and Formula E's social media channels. The whole experience will offer fans a rare and exclusive behind-the-scenes, access-all-areas viewpoint into the world of Formula E, not from the perspective of the grandstands, but directly behind the wheel. It will showcase what it truly takes to compete at the pinnacle of electric racing, with a feature-length documentary coming later in 2025.
