What does your role look like day-to-day and how does it contribute to the wider business?
"I’m responsible for the human performance of drivers and team crew, making sure that they are in the best conditions to perform at the highest level. As a health professional in the field, the areas of expertise that are under my responsibility are medical, physical and mental preparation, rehabilitation, nutrition and hydration, sleep management, and recovery."
How did you end up working in motorsport?
"I grew up training every day to become an athlete, surrounded by competitive atmosphere. So I knew that I always wanted to work in high-performance sports. Competition is my environment and where I feel comfortable acting. I’m working in high-performance sports since 2010, with experience in different sports and international competitions (Olympic team, World and European championships,
UEFA champions league, etc)."
"In 2017 Motorsport just came as a possibility, when I was invited to start some collaborations. I decided to accept this opportunity and challenge. I was lucky to have the chance, but I was working hard to build this “luck”, investing in improving my skills and knowledge. I started to build my course in motorsport working individually with some great drivers and teams. Nowadays I have experience in different categories (F3, W Series, WEC, Formula E, Touring cars, and 24H races)."
What is your favorite thing about your job, do you have any fond memories or proud
achievements?
"I have a pivotal role in the team and I need to keep myself updated with knowledge from various areas. And I like to say that we belong proudly to the backstage of the show (race), making sure that every is aligned for the right moment."
"Regarding memories and proud achievements, I was responsible for the rehabilitation of a driver, after a huge crash, with a long recovery process that took us more than 400 days. But we made it, He was able to drive again, and He won his home race. It was a moment of reward after such a long journey."
What would be your advice for young women looking to enter the sport?
"Women are capable of so much more than the world thinks than we think about ourselves sometimes. We should never let gender be an obstacle to anything in life. Be grateful for the opportunities, all learning comes from experience. And be grateful to the people who will help and support you through the evolution process. Be humble but bold, work hard, be respectful and respected, and never stop following your dreams. Hard work, dedication, and talent have no gender."
