The new racing management game, developed by Animoca Brands and Amber lets players experience the highs, lows and blows of being a Team Principal in the unforgiving world of all-electric racing. Collect, train, upgrade and manage drivers and cars from different seasons, including all 11 official, Formula E teams from NEOM McLaren to Mahindra and Maserati MSG Racing.
Battling it out on some of Formula E’s most iconic tracks, such as Rome, the sand swept streets of Diriyah and the epic skylines of New York, London and Berlin, players must manage every element of each race. By carefully choosing the best cars, drivers and special abilities for the task, players can make their way through the championship and ensure victory in all weather conditions, as well as day and night races.
Each car and driver in the game is an NFT (token) of a certain rarity - Common, Rare, Epic, Legendary - with a special ability drawn from a pool of over 100 skills. With a mix of fantasy and real-world cars and drivers, players can onboard the reigning world champion Jake Dennis and his Andretti Porsche 99X Electric GEN3 racing car, alongside all his rivals.
Based on Flow - the sustainability-focused blockchain and leader in energy efficiency – players are granted digital ownership over all their in-game items, from teams and drivers to cars. Flow’s energy efficient Proof-of-Stake consensus mechanism means minting tokens on Flow uses less energy than a post on Instagram or a Google search. In line with Formula E’s founding mission to counteract climate change by accelerating the adoption of electric vehicles, Formula E: High Voltage operates within a net zero carbon strategy and commitment.
“The launch of Formula E: High Voltage, in partnership with Formula E, marks an exhilarating moment for us,” said Will Griffiths, vice president of commercial strategy, Animoca Brands. “Fans and players alike will not only immerse themselves in the excitement of the race, but also enjoy the advantages of true digital ownership brought by NFT and blockchain technologies.”
The game is the latest development from the REVV Motorsport ecosystem, which also includes the licensed racing blockchain games MotoGP™ Ignition and MotoGP™ Guru, as well as original titles REVV Racing and Torque Drift 2.
