Dennis: 'Semis lap one of my best in Formula E'

Jake Dennis made it through to the Duels Final and will start the Gulavit Jakarta E-Prix Round 11 from the front row as he looks to follow up a podium on Saturday with more silverware on Sunday.

Dennis is heading into the 11th race of Season 9 off the back of three consecutive podiums as he fights back from a four-race non-scoring spell betwenn Hyderbad and the Berlin opener.

"We've had two really good qualifying days this weekend," said Dennis. "My lap against Mitch (Evans) today was one of the best I've done in Formula E. It's been a while - it's so difficult for me in qualifying this year but I really nailed that lap. Going agains Max (Guenther), I always knew I had to extract a little bit more but the fact they got into the 1m07s was just crazy, so full credit to him. I definitely didn't have the pace for that.

The Brit sits third in the standings and with Envision Racing's standings leader Nick Cassidy and second-placed Pascal Wehrlein (TAG Heuer Porsche) behind him on the grid, there's the opportunity to close the gap in the Drivers' World Championship - and Dennis is in it for the win.

"We're starting P2 and hopefully I can get a bit better start than we did yesterday. We're going to go for the win. if we can hold position at the start and if we drop any further back than third then it's going to be really difficult to win. Ultimately, we've got a great race car. I think it was the most efficient yesterday considering how far we dropped back. Full credit to the team turning this qualifying performance around. It's a lot better starting from the front rather than P10, so hats off to them!"
