Hankook London E-Prix added to record FIA Girls on Track line-up for Season 9

The season finale double-header in London has been added to the FIA Girls on Track line-up for Season 9 following the success of the initiative - expanding to a record five events across the 2022/23 campaign.

Girls on Track

Formula E, with the support of Hankook and ABB, has welcomed more than 100 girls at each FIA Girls on Track event this season, with Mexico, Diriyah and Berlin playing host to a day of activities to educate and inspire - packed full of insight and hands-on experiences.

Along with activities such as e-karting, simulator challenges in the Gaming Arena, garage tours and wheel change practice, the girls also got themselves an invite back to the track to watch all the action on race day, alongside a capacity 40,000 crowd at the first round of the GEN3 era. Hankook were also on-hand to put the girls to the test with a giant board game, and answer their questions on the tyre manufacturer, its technology, sustainability and Formula E with top prizes for the winners.

FIA Girls on Track gives girls the chance to hear from women within the industry travelling around the world with Formula E such as doctors, marshals, presenters, media managers and mechanics. It's an opportunity to hear about these inspiring females' passions, their career pathways and have the opportunity to ask questions on how they could get their dream jobs.

The initiative, with Hankook the new Presenting Partner of FIA Girls on Track, has delivered programmes in Mexico, Diriyah and São Paulo and will appear in Jakarta as well as the London finale - for a record five events over the season. Plus, this season, there will be virtual sessions for the first time open to girls across the globe. The Season 9 programme includes more hands-on workshops and behind-the-scenes experiences for girls aged 12-18, with an increased focus on education, off-site careers talks and plenty of chance to get involved at each of the four races.

It's open to girls from all backgrounds and with no motorsport experience required. FIA Girls On Track aims to show girls all of the opportunities within the world of motorsport. From living in the fast lane as a driver, to working behind the scenes as one of the engineers working on the fastest cars on track, helping them realise their dreams, gain confidence and learn first-hand what life working in the world of motorsport is like.

FIA Girls on Track has hosted more than 2,000 girls across 14 Formula E races and six different race locations, where they have participated in careers talks, karting, media workshops and learnt about cutting edge technology currently being developed by the series’ partners and teams.

Registration opens on 16 June and runs to 14 July. Find out more here.
