Formula E headed to COP27 in November. Alongside our Charity Partner UNICEF, we highlighted the growing importance of the Safe and Healthy Environment Fund that is helping protect and empower children and young people (OR future generations) against the dangers of climate change.
Speaking at COP27, Gautam Narasimhan, Global Lead for Climate, Energy, & Environment at UNICEF said: "One billion children are already at high risk due to climate change. A generation will grow up in a world made far more dangerous and uncertain as a result of a changing climate and degrading environment.
"As the first global sport organisation to support UNICEF’s climate programmes, Formula E continues to help us raise awareness and vital funds for children around the world. Together, we are driving better futures for every child and we are on track to help three million children worldwide live in a safer and cleaner environment by the end of 2023."

Julia Palle, Formula E's Sustainability Director, was on hand across COP27 with the championship as the only representative from the world of sport to be a part of the conversation at the world's biggest political gathering aimed squarely at tackling the climate crisis.
"It's been a bit more than a year since Formula E and UNICEF started to work together around the Safe and Healthy Environment Fund, which is includes all the climate related work of UNICEF grouped under one fund at a global and international level," said Palle.
"Of course, with Formula E founded as a sport with the purpose trying to advance electrification on our streets, we decided to partner with UNICEF for this very reason. Children are the least responsible for climate change, yet will become the most affected by it. So, the partnership really aims at empowering children, educating them, making sure that they understand how they can lobby and become really agents of change in their local communities.

"I just got back from a programme visit to Mexico where I saw children in delicate communities and had the chance to meet them and see the benefit they're going to get from a system that will give them clean, safe, drinkable water.
"Children must be at the centre of all climate policies and at COP27, it was really important for me to push this forward and really make sure that for decision makers and also got our key actors in the field and in the industry, we make sure that's what we're doing."
