Jaguar TCS Racing locked out the second row in Monaco ahead of this afternoon’s E-Prix, but for many there was a question of what could have been. Mitch Evans had topped every session up until that point but had to settle for third, with last year’s winner here Nick Cassidy in fourth.
QUALIFYING REPORT: Wehrlein and Porsche place it on pole in Monaco
For Evans, a track limits violation on his flying lap coming out of the tunnel at the chicane resulted in TAG Heuer Porsche’s Pascal Wehrlein getting through to the Finals – he would go on to secure his third Julius Baer Pole Position of the season.
On the other side of the Jaguar garage, Nick Cassidy had brief contact with the barrier in a similar area on the track and meant Stoffel Vandoorne (DS PENSKE) achieved his best starting grid position here with second.
However, grid position isn’t a dealbreaker here. Last year, Nick Cassidy managed to win from ninth on the grid!
