Mahindra Racing to race its Gen2 challenger at CarFest

With just a matter of weeks until season four of the ABB FIA Formula E Championship comes to a conclusion with the double-header season finale in New York City, Mahindra Racing will showcase its Gen2 season five challenger on track for the first time in the UK at CarFest South.

Taking place at Laverstoke Park Farm, Hampshire, UK, August 24 to 26, Mahindra's Gen2 car will take to CarFest's new track alongside Formula One cars, supercars and grand tourers. Designed by racing legends Jody Scheckter and Ross Brawn, the track comprises of a series of corners replicating that of the swimming pool complex at Monaco, where the new car will run in front of fans and families attending the festival.

With double the energy storage capacity of the Gen1 car, the new all-electric racer marks a new era for Formula E as the cars are capable of completing a whole race at full race power. With 250kW of power on offer, the Gen2 will accelerate from 0-100km/h in 2.8-seconds and go on to a top speed of 280km/h. After Mahindra Racing's Nick Heidfeld set the open-wheel eRecord for the Hillclimb at the Goodwood Festival of Speed back in 2017, Mahindra will be looking for a similar result with their new challenger at CarFest.

Marking its seventh year, CarFest brings together cars, food, music and family entertainment into one three day festival hosted across two sites in the south and north of England. In the last six years, the two annual events have raised an incredible £10.5 million for BBC Children in Need, whilst entertaining more than 600,000 festival-goers of all ages. With tickets now on sale, don't miss your chance to see Mahindra's Gen2 car in action at CarFest South.
