Buemi sets the pace in FP2

Sebastien Buemi showed that he’ll be the man to beat in the Buenos Aires ePrix this afternoon, by setting an unofficial lap record in FP2.

The Renault e.dams championship leader set a best time of 1:08.771s to out-pace title rival Lucas di Grassi by almost 0.6s. Buemi’s team-mate Nico Prost was third fastest, just 0.01s down on the Brazilian.

FP1 pace-setter Sam Bird kept up his strong form for DS Virgin Racing by going fourth fastest, but despite claiming he was feeling much better, food-poisoning-struck Jean-Eric Vergne didn’t venture out onto the track.

Last year’s winner Antonio Felix da Costa was an encouraging fifth for Team Aguri, while new team-mate Salvador Duran was 16th. Mike Conway was a solid ninth for Venturi on his debut appearance.
