What does your role look like day-to-day and how does it contribute to the wider business?
"My role is to work in collaboration with our world-class portfolio of Jaguar TCS Racing partners to manage their partnership strategies, activation and marketing plans and ensure our partnerships are driving value"
"Every day in my job looks different as our partnerships span so many different areas across the race team including PR & Comms, driver and senior management appearances, hospitality and operations. During a race weekend, my role will be to manage the delivery of partner activations on-the-ground and then back at base, my days are full of calls and meetings with the partners and different departments across the team to plan for future activations and races."
"My role contributes to the wider Jaguar TCS Racing business as our partners are essential to the success of our race team. Not just in a commercial sense but as technical experts in their fields, they’re integral to our team performance on the track. It’s incredibly rewarding as we share the same brand values and visions with our partners and can put that into practice with our activations."
How did you end up working in motorsport?
"Growing up, I was always a huge sport and F1 fan, but I never thought I would get the opportunity to work within motorsport. I love working with people and storytelling, so I first pursed journalism and did an MA in broadcast journalism, but quickly found that I preferred public relations (PR). I loved PR as it involved working with a team of people and I was able to tell stories – this is something I really enjoy."
"I worked in a few different jobs across broadcast and automotive PR agencies before being offered a role in F1 as the Comms Manager for Petronas, Title and Technical partner to the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team. Across the three years, I moved from being Comms Manager to Account Director and started working across all areas of their partnership. I realised that a partnerships role offered all the areas of the job that I really enjoyed and I knew it was the right fit for me."
"When a job came up at Jaguar TCS Racing, I was ready for a new challenge and moved across to work in Formula E. Since then, I have been able to grow my team and deliver some brilliant work with our fantastic partners in a variety of different industries."
What is your favourite thing about your job, do you have any fond memories, proud achievements?
"My favourite thing about the job is the people that I get to work with. We have a phenomenal team culture and it’s a pleasure to go to work every day as everyone is excited and motivated to do their best for the team. I’ve always been fascinated by people and learning about what makes them unique, and this role allows me to interact and build relationships with people from all over the world."
"Overall, I find it really rewarding when we have been working hard over a few months to plan and prepare for a partner activation and then we get to deliver it and see the results in real life – that’s a great part of what I do."
"My proudest achievement in my career so far is when Stephanie Travers became the first black woman in history to stand on a Formula 1 podium. I was the Petronas Comms manager at the time and worked closely with Stephanie, who at the time was a Petronas Trackside Fluid Engineer, and the Petronas team to manage the media response to that milestone moment and help tell her story to the world to inspire young girls to follow in her footsteps."
What would be your advice for young women looking to enter the sport?
"Work hard! Anything is possible and if you work hard and invest in yourself, the opportunities will come, but nothing will ever be handed to you on a plate. When the opportunities do come, grab them with both hands, believe in yourself and go for it. Networking is so vital in this sport and if you can demonstrate your passion, positivity and work ethic, you’ll put yourself in the best possible position when those opportunities do come."
