The season-finale of the 2015/16 FIA Formula E Championship in London last year didn’t just provide a storyline worthy of a Hollywood blockbuster - with title rivals Sebastien Buemi and Lucas di Grassi coming to blows on the first lap - but it also saw film star Luke Evans take the fully-electric Formula E car for a spin.
The Beauty and the Beast actor expressed his enthusiasm for racing and fast cars with talk show host Ellen DeGeneres earlier this week as they watched clips from his time behind the wheel at the Visa London ePrix in Battersea Park.
Speaking about the experience, Evans said: “This is something special because it’s electric. It sounds very different as well which is very weird as I’m used to hearing these deafening roars and this is a very high whine, but it’s actually very impressive to watch. It’s mind-blowing, absolutely mind-blowing. I’ve never done anything like that in my life. You just want to keep going faster and faster and faster. It’s extraordinary, I just want to get back in and do it again - that’s the only problem!”
