Records will be set this weekend when the inaugural Formula E race in France takes place in Paris. It’s a city with a fine heritage in motor sport, but the track at Les Invalides has never been used before meaning there is no previous data to compare this year’s race against.
Still, some records will be challenged – for example Renault e.dams has scored at least one point in every Formula E race ever held. The record carried on only through Sebastien Buemi’s fastest lap in Long Beach, so the team will be hoping for a much better showing in its home race on Saturday.
Championship stats
- At 1.93km the Visa Paris ePrix track will be the shortest used this season – although the Monaco track used in season one was a shorter lap
- Whoever sets fastest lap in the race will establish a new lap record
- There have been 17 races in Formula E thus far. During these, there have been 10 opportunities for a driver to win his home race. So far this has happened just once – Sam Bird in the second London race. Four French drivers – Loic Duval, Nico Prost, Stephane Sarrazin and Jean-Eric Vergne have the opportunity to add to this
