WIND ENERGY
MOROCCO
TANGIER-TETOUAN
Located in Tangier-Tetouan in northern Morocco, the 40-turbine wind farm has a total installed capacity of 120MW.
The electrical energy generated by this site is used to substitute energy currently supplied by fossil fuels to contribute to the expansion of wind power in Morocco as part of the national strategy for renewable energy development.
While contributing to a reduction in CO2 emissions of 34,439 tonnes per year the project also generates employment in the local area, helps reduce the dependence on imported fossil fuels and has a direct impact on 3 of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) (7, 8, 13).
