Better Futures Fund

Formula E will donate €25,000 to the Miami based charity Sprout Up, as part of the series’ $250,000 Better Futures Fund, supporting charities in each race market.

The donation will support the charity’s “Greener Together” Community Garden initiative, aimed at promoting environmental and food education while enhancing food security through community engagement.

The funds will enhance local communities through:

  • Workshops for 360 community members each year, targeting a 50% increase in participation.
  • Events and partnerships with schools to engage youth in environmental stewardship.
  • Garden Infrastructure: Raised beds, irrigation systems, and necessary tools.
  • Fresh Produce Distribution: Providing fresh, locally grown food to approximately 2,400 individuals annually.

To celebrate the partnership, Formula E and Sprout Up will unite during race week for 'Ready. Set. Grow.,' an initiative supporting young minds and families facing food insecurity in Homestead and Florida City. Formula E representatives deliver a Q&A session on resilience and teamwork, help prepare nutritious food packs, and plant seedlings for a community garden. Sprout Up community participants will also be invited to attend the Miami E-Prix.

Natalie Rowe, Co-Founder Sprout Up said: “At Sprout Up, we are thrilled to partner with Formula E to drive meaningful change in our community. This collaboration allows us to expand our programs, empowering underserved families and children with access to nutrition, education, and wellness resources. Other sustainability measures

Powered by renewable energy: The Miami E-Prix will be powered using a renewable energy mix largely consisting of sustainable HVO fuel. Solar will also be incorporated, with batteries and the use of grid energy also offering the opportunity to optimise resources on the existing venue.

Air Freight Emissions Reduction: Formula E continues to reduce freight-related CO2 emissions in S11 through optimising logistics, reducing air freight from three planes to two, and enhancing sea freight solutions, with an estimated saving of at least 25% of freight-related CO2 emissions in Season 11.

Julia Pallé, VP of Sustainability, Formula E, said: “At Formula E, sustainability isn’t just a commitment—it’s the foundation of everything we do. As we return to Miami, we’re proud to continue driving meaningful change through initiatives that positively impact both people and the planet. From supporting local community projects through the Better Futures Fund to empowering young women in motorsport with FIA Girls on Track, we are using our platform to create real opportunities and inspire the next generation.

By integrating sustainability into every aspect of our championship—whether through renewable energy solutions, reducing freight emissions, or engaging with underprivileged communities—we are proving that motorsport can be a force for good.

I’m also delighted about the return of Change. Accelerated. Live in Miami, presented by PIF—bringing together brilliant minds from motorsport, sustainability, politics, education, and beyond to inspire innovation and drive real progress.”
