Girls on Track Newsletter - Shanghai

Growing momentum in the East

On May 30, the FIA Girls on Track programme made a much-anticipated return to Shanghai. This time, 120 girls aged 12 to 18 took part in a day designed not just to introduce them to the electric world of motorsport, but to show them they belong in it.

Delivered in partnership with the Federation of Automobile and Motorcycle Sports of China (CAMF), with key support from Ms. Gong (Director of CAMF’s Sporting Department) and Sara Mariani (FIA Director of Sustainability, Diversity, and Inclusion), the event captured the lively energy of the local scene while meeting international standards.

The day followed the familiar structure of Career Talks, Pit Lane Walks, racing simulations in the Gaming Arena, and a live view of the free practice session - yet each activity carried new weight in Shanghai’s growing motorsport community.

As with all our events, the day included a special moment: one participant stood on the podium alongside the drivers, reminding everyone that the future of motorsport includes young women from all backgrounds, and that belonging begins with being seen.

GOT Newsletter - Aisha Daulay Shanghai

Editor: Aisha Daulay

Hello, and I hope you enjoy this edition of our newsletter! The FIA Girls on Track programme can really take you anywhere, an experience that truly changed everything for me. Meeting so many incredible girls and becoming part of that community showed me how important change is and how every unexpected connection can open doors you never imagined.

Even now, I’m very thankful to the team for giving me the chance to write about the championship. From round previews to post-race interviews, the editorial team has been a solid foundation that encourages me to get creative. Whether it is capturing a driver’s raw post-race emotions or sharing a statistic I found especially interesting, this opportunity has allowed me to explore my passion in new ways.

For me, it is about staying curious and having the courage to put yourself out there, even when it feels difficult, and I am learning how to do that with every article I write.

So here is my advice: take every opportunity that comes your way, no matter how big or small. In a world as competitive as motorsport, you never know which step will bring you closer to your dream.

Looking forward to sharing more stories with you soon!
