Mortara joined the team in 2017 under its previous guise as Venturi, and after finishing on the podium in only his second E-Prix start, kick-started an acclaimed six-season collaboration which would become one of the longest-standing and most successful driver-team partnerships in the series.
Mortara won six races, scored 13 podiums, and secured two pole positions to collect 422 points with the team, and in Season 7, finished runner-up in the Drivers' World Championship, before challenging right to the finale the following campaign. “The past six years of my career have been quite a journey, and it has been an honour to represent the team during this time," said the Swiss-French-Italian.
"Since 2017, we have experienced a lot together, it’s been a rollercoaster at times and by learning from the tough moments we faced, we grew to become a competitive outfit, fighting for race wins and World Championships. I’m proud of the role I played in this. I want to take this opportunity to thank the team for their trust in me and their support, I wish them the best of luck for the future.”
Maserati MSG Racing thanked Mortara "for his incredible contribution to the team over six brilliant years and wish him nothing but the very best for his future endeavours" in their statement.
