Maximilian Guenther continued his strong run of form in Jeddah, after yesterday’s Jeddah E-Prix winner was quickest on track in Free Practice 3.

The DS PENSKE of Guenther set a 1m15.044s in the last moments of the 40 minute session, going 0.072s quicker than NEOM McLaren’s Taylor Barnard who was in the top spot for most of the final practice. Oliver Rowland has the best 300 kWh lap, settling for third at the chequered flag - the same top three as made the podium in Round 3 yesterday.

TAG Heuer Porsche’s Antonio Felix da Costa finished fourth, with teammate Pascal Wehrlein in fifth.

There was some rain overnight and an hour before the session got underway at 13:00 local time, but the circuit was dry by the time cars took to the track. All drivers were quick to get out, with several drivers taking turns at the top of the times including Nissan’s Norman Nato, Envision Racing’s Sebastien Buemi and yesterday’s race winner Maximilian Guenther.

15 minutes in, Maserati MSG Racing’s Jake Hughes came to a stop on track, bringing out some brief yellow flags. Hughes, who recorded his best result for his new team yesterday when he finished fifth, was forced to pull over on the start-finish straight and reset the car before getting going again. He came into the pits, spending most of the session in there but did get out at the end of FP3 for some more laps.

Taylor Barnard continued his impressive run of form, going quickest with a 1m15.116s, despite encountering traffic on his final lap. His teammate Sam Bird was behind him, making it a NEOM McLaren one-two for a chunk of the session before Guenther, Antonio Felix da Costa and Jaguar’s Mitch Evans filled the gap with three minutes to go.

In the final stages, Guenther went quickest, 0.072s off Barnard’s time. The McLaren driver couldn't improve in his final flying lap and was forced to settle for second in the last practice in Jeddah.
