Tatiana Calderon in at Lola Yamaha ABT for Jeddah's Rookie Free Practice

Tatiana Calderón will drive for Lola Yamaha ABT in Jeddah's Rookie Free Practice, 13 February.

Tatiana Calderon Lola

A successful kart racer since age nine, Calderon won the National Championships in both Colombia and the United States, going on to achieve success in a number of motorsport categories. Her career to date has seen her gain experience in series including the FIA World Endurance Championship, Indycar, Formula 2, GP3, and Super Formula.

She is currently competing in her second season in the IMSA SportsCar Championship for Gradient Racing, alongside Lola Cars chairman, Till Bechtolsheimer. The Colombian racer has tested Formula E machinery before, including the GEN3 Evo at last year's Women's Test - the first of its kind for an FIA Championship.

“I’m very excited to join the Lola Yamaha ABT Team for the Rookie free practice in Jeddah, which I feel is a great opportunity provided by Formula E for drivers who are new to the series," says the 31-year-old.

"I’ve been impressed with the progress this new team has made so far and that is a testament of the quality of the people behind it. There’s a great atmosphere with everyone pushing in the same direction, something I’ve felt when I’ve been preparing in the simulator.

"I‘m very grateful to the whole team for this opportunity and can’t wait to hit the track in Jeddah to help them gain some valuable data in preparation for the first double-header of the season.”

Mark Preston, Motorsport Director at Lola Cars, adds: “We are pleased to welcome Tatiana to the team in Jeddah. Her talent and experience, combined with her previous testing in Formula E with both the GEN2 and the GEN3 Evo, are the ideal combination for a new team and manufacturer as we continue to develop our package.”

Thomas Biermaier, CEO of ABT, says: “It’s great to have Tatiana joining Lola Yamaha ABT for the Rookie Free Practice. The session will not only give a chance for her to once again showcase her talent on track, but her experience will also enable her to give us additional important feedback on what is a new circuit for the Championship.”
