De Vries heads fifth Madrid test session

Nyck de Vries topped the times in the afternoon's running, following a first race simulation for the full 22-car grid.

Day three in Madrid at Jarama Circuit saw two more three-hour test sessions come and go, as well as a race sim in the afternoon.

In the morning, David Beckmann steered his newly Porsche-powered Kiro to the top of the timing screens with the fastest lap we’ve seen of the GEN3 Evo era yet, while the two factory Porsches followed just behind.

Practice starts, with that new all-wheel drive, kicked off the afternoon before a run through of a full race distance with all 22 drivers taking part and Pascal Wehrlein heading the way come the end of the exercise.

In the afternoon's running, times didn't quite hit the morning's highs. Mahindra Racing's Nyck de Vries topped the charts from Jaguar's Mitch Evans, with teammate Edo Mortara for an encouraging win double.

Tomorrow, we’re back with the finale of testing, with a morning session rounding things out before the unique, first for an FIA World Championship Women’s Test set for the afternoon - with a grid full of the world’s quickest female drivers set to sample the GEN3 Evo and electric racing’s top tier.
