GIRLS ON TRACK DIARY: Monaco Experience: Inspiring and Empowering

Monaco is synonymous with speed, innovation, and a rich history of motorsports. 'My experience with FIA Girls on Track during the Formula E race was profoundly inspiring' - Vilte Statulevicute share's her experience.

The day was filled with activities designed to engage, educate, and empower young girls, fostering a new generation of talent in a field traditionally dominated by men. The day's agenda was jam-packed with unforgettable activities. The itinerary included a Pit Walk, allowing the girls to witness the high-tech world of Formula E up close. The Allianz Fan Village visit provided a more interactive experience, with sim racing that gave participants a feel for what it's like to pilot these electric vehicles. The level of enthusiasm among the girls was contagious, and I found myself equally captivated by the energy and creativity surrounding these activities.

One of the most significant moments of the day was the series of career talks by influential figures in the motorsports industry. Listening to the insights of the FIA president and various female team members was both motivational and enlightening. These talks highlighted the diverse career paths available in motorsports, from engineering and technical roles to management, marketing and beyond. The grandstand tickets on race day added an extra layer of excitement, allowing the girls to witness the thrill of the race first-hand.

Personally, what I enjoyed most was the opportunity to inspire other girls to pursue their interests in motorsports. I'm aware of the importance of mentorship and representation in career development. That is why introducing the FIA Girls on Track program to others in the Allianz Fan Village and hearing their appreciation at the end of the day was immensely gratifying.

FIA Girls on Track is a key initiative, because it challenges stereotypes and broadens horizons. It encourages young women to explore careers in motorsports and provides them with the resources and role models necessary to succeed. My biggest takeaway from this experience is that when we invest in opportunities for young girls, we unlock their potential and contribute to a more inclusive future in motorsports.
