RACE REPLAY: The last time Formula E raced in Miami

Miami is back on the calendar for Season 11, but it's not the first time Formula E has visited as it was the first US city to host a race way back in the first season. Revisit the very first Miami E-Prix, in full, below.

The Season 11 calendar is out in the open now, and with that, there's a return of the Miami E-Prix next March when Formula E will bring its trademark wheel-to-wheel action to the Homestead Miami Speedway in the Sunshine State.

Miami and Formula E have history though, Miami was also the host of the first E-Prix in the USA with a temporary circuit around Biscayne Bay, with the city skyline providing a fantastic backdrop. However, Formula E was very different back then in our first season which saw pitstops and car changeovers.

One thing that was the same was an action-packed race. Nicolas Prost won his first E-Prix taking the lead in the final laps from Daniel Abt who finished third at the flag. But notably, the race nearly saw a home winner as American Scott Speed claimed second, just 0.433s behind winner Prost.

It was Speed's debut race in Formula E in a series of drives with Andretti, and he's still the only American driver to stand on a Formula E podium.
