Formula E races at locations around the globe as an FIA World Championship. Visiting numerous destinations in Asia, Africa, the Americas and Europe over the last 10 seasons, the all-electric championship has brought racing to some of the most spectacular places on Earth.

With the Season 10 calendar now confirmed, here’s a look at all the incredible venues that will be hosting the best electric racing around!
Mexico City
One of the most-loved circuits on the calendar, Formula E and Mexico are a match made in heaven. The Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez always delivers a crazy and entertaining race for a fantastic opening round of the season. The circuit’s smooth track surface and long straights allow for some impressive top speeds over the course of a lap. There’s also a great balance of twisty technical corners and the iconic stadium section that make for a dreamy combination. The circuit also hosts the likes of F1 and the NASCAR Mexico Series, and has the highest altitude on the calendar, standing at 2,250m above sea level.

First joining the calendar in Season 2, there has been plenty of drama around this track that includes shock disqualifications, first-time pole positions and the most dramatic finish to a race in Formula E history when Lucas di Grassi driving for Audi Sport passed Mahindra’s Pascal Wehrlein at the finish line!
Saudi Arabia
Next up is Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia. Formula E is surrounded by incredible history and beauty for these two rounds, as it races in the desert near the UNESCO World Heritage site. Bringing the forefront of technology to such an ancient destination, it’s the perfect blend of old meets new. The E-Prix is also hosted at night, using low-power LED technology to illuminate the special circuit.
Over the lap which reaches just under 2.5km, drivers must tackle a technical first sector before finding themselves in a series of fast changing corners in quick succession. A long straight is located at the end of the configuration, which is a true test of energy management and strategy for even the most experienced of drivers. This doubleheader event saw TAG Heuer Porsche’s Pascal Wehrlein completely dominate and win both races in Season 9. Can he do it again? Let’s see.

São Paulo
Another location that got its debut during the first year of GEN3, São Paulo is back on the Formula E calendar in Season 10. Brazil is known for its big motorsport heroes, with the championship being home to its fair share of them over the last decade; from Season 1 champion Nelson Piquet Jr, Lucas di Grassi (ABT CUPRA) who won the drivers’ title in Season 3, as well as Felipe Massa and Sergio Sette Camara currently at the ERT Formula E team.
Brazil’s street circuit is made up of a series of long straights (and we mean long!), as well as some challenging sequences of corners. Usually home to carnival floats, this location definitely brings a party atmosphere and is a great celebration of all things electric motorsport!
Tokyo
New city, who dis? It’s no secret that Formula E is absolutely buzzing to be finally racing in Japan this season. Taking to the streets of Tokyo, the electric single seater championship is going to be the first event of its kind. No FIA-sanctioned world championship motorsport event has ever been held in Tokyo with Formula E breaking down what’s possible once again. Drivers will jump into their GEN3 cars along roads around the Tokyo Big Sight convention centre on the Tokyo Bay waterfront and we can’t wait.
The event will be huge for the Japanese Nissan Formula E team, who are running drivers Sacha Fenestraz and Oliver Rowland for Season 10. Never far from their roots, the team were still seen running their iconic cherry blossom livery during pre-season testing in October.
Misano
Another new addition to Formula E’s biggest calendar is the awesome Misano circuit in Italy, which will host the second doubleheader of the year. The iconic Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli circuit is located in the beautiful Emilia-Romagna region and will be the latest host for the Italian round of the calendar. Usually home to racing on two wheels, the circuit will see the GEN3 cars reach some incredible speeds over a lap!

Situated on the Adriatic coast, it’s already being dubbed one of the highlights of the year as we will be able to see the grid battle it out on the permanent circuit. The track consists of several swooping corners and hairpins, and will take place in stunning spring across 13 and 14 April 2024.
Monaco
Back to a familiar favourite, Monaco still remains the jewel in the crown for Formula E. The principality welcomed the all-electric championship with open arms in Season 1, and overtime it has grown to be a staple of the sporting season. Now racing across the full circuit layout, it almost feels like Formula E was designed and destined to race around this iconic destination.
Last season there were 116 overtakes and multiple changes for the lead, a big difference to other motorsport championships that race on the same circuit. The country always delivers a sublime spectacle, oozing the perfect blend of glitz and glamour, and is one of the highlights on the calendar for the drivers - with them all wanting to win. However, there can only be one who stands on the top of that legendary podium. Who will it be in Season 10?
Berlin
The Berlin E-Prix is one of Formula E’s most recognisable and longstanding locations for a race. First used in 2015, the circuit at the iconic Tempelhof Airport has gone on to host the single-seater championship on 17 occasions over different track layouts. Used as the location for six races in nine days during Season 6 in the pandemic, it’s a circuit a lot of the veteran drivers know very well. Being based on an airport apron, the track surface is incredibly demanding for the drivers. The high-grip concrete makes it the most abrasive conditions for the Hankook tyres, with this also influencing energy management and race strategies.

The venue in the German capital city also presents plenty of overtaking opportunities, with last year’s Berlin E-Prix generating an outrageous 362 overtakes - 190 on Saturday and 172 on Sunday. The Season 9 race also created a new record, as eight different drivers led at least one full lap during Saturday’s race, something not seen before in Formula E.
Shanghai
Formula E comes back to China in 2024, as it gets ready to race in Shanghai! It’s been almost a decade since the all-electric championship took to the streets of Beijing for the first-ever race, with the rest being history. Since then, China has hosted seven races including in Sanya and Hong Kong, with the most recent in March 2019.

Swapping the heart of the city for the permanent Shanghai International Circuit, the GEN3 Formula E cars will be 75 per cent more powerful and 95 km/h faster than the first-generation car that took to the streets of Beijing. Although a layout for the race will be confirmed soon, the most sustainable sport in the world will be racing at the special venue which has also been host to other international motorsport series like F1.
"It is a special honour for Formula E to race in Shanghai for the first time next May,” Formula E’s CEO Jeff Dodds said about the addition. "While racing in Shanghai is highly symbolic for Formula E, it will also be an incredible race weekend for fans. There is a passionate sporting fanbase in the city, and we cannot wait for them to experience a completely new style of motor racing.”
Portland
Formula E went back Stateside in Season 9, racing at the infamous Portland International Raceway in Oregon. The permanent circuit, which is host to the likes of IndyCar, was another nail-biter last year. The inaugural Portland E-Prix was the fourth different US city the electric racing championship has raced in, previously going to Miami, Long Beach and New York City.
Another location great for overtaking, last year it broke records. Dan Ticktum (ERT Formula E) climbed from 14th to eighth on the first lap, the only driver to make up six spots on the opening lap all season. Elsewhere, five drivers (Mitch Evans, Sebastien Buemi, Pascal Wehrlein, Jean-Eric Vergne and Stoffel Vandoorne), gained 10 or more places during the same race, something never seen before in Formula E in almost a decade.
London
The final races of the season, London always ends the season with a bang. One of the most unique racing venues in the world, the circuit is half indoor-half outdoor and hosted within the Royal Victoria Dock and ExCeL Centre. With a grippy track surface when racing inside the exhibition centre, things take a turn when the grid ventures outside and is met with rough asphalt and variable weather conditions. There is also plenty of elevation change, a stunning selection of corners and always delivers fantastic racing with some great overtaking spots.

The UK capital crowned a new champion last season, with Briton Jake Dennis (Andretti) winning the drivers’ title in front of his home fans. The circuit also puts on a show by using the exhibition area to treat attendees to live music, a gaming arena and plenty of catering options, the perfect end to the season for any Formula E fan.
