Mexico City and the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez saw the return of Formula E FIA Girls on Track with 150 local girls selected to join the championship on-track ahead of the Mexico City E-Prix.
Women from Formula E, the FIA and the series' teams and partners were on-hand to educate and inspire the girls on the potential career paths and opportunities open to them in the championship and beyond.
Take a look at Mexico City's Girls on Track experience
Along with activities such as eKarting, simulator challenges, garage tours and wheel change practice, the girls got to sample the unique race experience at the iconic Mexico City circuit and saw robot building with ABB and entered virtual worlds with DHL.
The initiative will be back in Berlin and London with a further Season 8 event on its way.
Daniela's Girls on Track diary
My name is Daniela, and I am from a little city that's two hours away from Mexico City, called Pachuca. When I heard that Girls on Track was going to be here, I was very excited and ready to be part of it - luckily, I was chosen to be there.
After we arrived at the circuit on Friday, we got the chance to take part in several activities like learning more about DHL and ABB's roles within the championship, what goes on behind the cameras and how to change tyres in a pit stop... Let me tell you, it’s way more complicated than it looks on TV!
All the activities were a lot of fun, but my two favorites were the eKarts, and a chat with Emma Bearpark who works at NIO 333 Formula E Team. It was so amazing to talk to her because she told us a little bit of her experience and the PR and marketing role she has at the team.

At the end, we got the opportunity to ask her some questions, and she gave us amazing advice if we wanted to work in a role like hers in the future. I loved every single second of it, and listening to her talking about her job and career in such an enthusiastic way, made me love the motorsport world even more.
I also got the chance to talk with Libby Forbes who works at Formula E with the series' teams and partners! She told us a little bit about where she was from and how she loved the great atmosphere Mexico has. I told her how I wanted to work there one day, and she was so happy to see more girls wanting to become part of the motorsport world.
Chatting with them was so inspiring, they are both great and lovely people and I hope I can see them again soon!
These experiences were all incredible, I got to meet some of the drivers, meet amazing people, and make new besties. I also learned how teamwork is so important. A couple of the girls taught us how important is to communicate, and how organised they need to be to make things happen in a safer and more efficient way. I saw the effort everyone goes to and the passion they have for the sport, too.
Girls On Track was definitely a dream come true. It helped me to be a little closer to my dream job, know what it is like and now I´m more motivated than ever. I love motorsport, and I’m sure I want to work in the industry, whether is racing myself in karting, or working in the marketing and public relations area.
So, for all the girls who are thinking in signing up, DO IT! It´s an experience you´ll never forget. You will fall in love with it, and you are going to enjoy every moment of it. You'll be surrounded by the best people, and I’m sure you won't regret it.
More girls around the world deserve to be part of the motorsport world, and Girls On Track is the best way to start.
