The FIA Formula E Championship was honoured at the 2016 British Renewable Energy Awards in London last night – picking up the Low Carbon Transport Award.
The British Renewable Energy Awards brings together members of the renewable energy industry to recognise the achievements of companies and individuals over the past 12 months.
Julia Palle, Sustainability Manager at Formula E, said: “It’s an honour to be able to accept this award on behalf of the entire team at Formula E. It’s fantastic that the FIA Formula E Championship has been recognised for its efforts in promoting the use of renewable energies. We hope to continue to change people’s perceptions of electric vehicles and in turn see the wider use of cleaner energy solutions in cities all over the world.”
The FIA Formula E Championship is the world’s first fully-electric racing series and provides a platform to promote the advancements in electric vehicle technology. Formula E represents a vision for the future of the motor industry and serves as a framework for research and development.

Also through our partnership with Enel, the Official Power Partner of the FIA Formula E Championship, the series aims to power all races with 100 per cent renewable energy by season five - remaining consistent with the championship’s RE100 commitments.
Formula E makes its final stop on the calendar for the season finale in Battersea Park on July 2 and 3. Lucas di Grassi (Abt Schaeffler Audi Sport) and Sebastien Buemi (Renault e.dams) are separated by just a single point at the top of the drivers’ standings in the fight to be crowned Formula E champion.
