Last time out in Monaco, Jaguar TCS Racing’s Mitch Evans achieved his first win around the iconic streets of Monte Carlo. It was a victory the Kiwi had been desperately trying for throughout his career, and thanks to his talents and help from team work from Nick Cassidy, it became a reality.
For Evans, it was also his first win of Season 10 and put him back in title fight contention. He currently sits fifth in the standings, with Cassidy in second and on 95 points, but both Mitch and Nick hope that Berlin will be kind to them once again.
“Our 1-2 in Monaco was an incredibly proud moment both for me personally, and for the team,” Evans reflected ahead of Rounds 9 and 10 of the calendar. “It remains tight at the top of both the Teams’ and the Drivers’ World Championships, so our attention now shifts to Berlin.

“It’s a circuit we know well, and last year saw positive results for me, Nick, and for the Jaguar powertrain, so we’ll keep pushing this weekend and give it everything we have.”
It was indeed a strong set of races for the two New Zealanders last year, with Evans winning on the Saturday and Cassidy on the Sunday – albeit the latter was with Envision Racing at the time.
Mitch managed to climb from ninth on the grid in Season 9, to take the full 25 points for the win, with his then-teammate Sam Bird finishing just behind in second. Jaguar played a blinder with their race strategy to seal the team’s first one-two result in Formula E, in a race that saw 190 overtakes and a record 20 at-the-line lead changes and eight different race leaders.
The following day, the Jaguar-powered Envision piloted by Nick Cassidy achieved the victory jumping from eighth to first over a dramatic 40 laps. Now with the Jaguar works team, Cassidy will hope for a repeat of his success at the iconic Tempelhof Airport Street Circuit in his Jaguar I-TYPE 6.
“Following on from our incredible result in Monaco, the team have been working hard to set us up for another successful weekend. Berlin is a fun track - Mitch and I both won here last year, and I’m looking forward to getting out on track to aim to repeat last year’s results.”

The 2024 SUN MINIMEAL Berlin E-Prix gets underway on Friday 10 May with Free Practice 1 at 17:00 local time.
Track action for the first day of the double-header starts on Saturday 11 May with Free Practice 2 at 08:00 local. Qualifying follows at 10:40 local time with lights out for Round 9 scheduled at 15:00 local/13:00 UTC.
Following this, Sunday’s action starts with Free Practice 3 at 08:00, followed by Round 10 qualifying and race at 10:20 and 15:00 local time respectively.
