Vergne made Sustainability Ambassador in Paris

Vergne made Sustainability Ambassador in Paris

The FIA Formula E Championship has appointed Jean-Eric Vergne as its first Sustainability Ambassador.

The move is part of the series’ environmentally responsible commitments it signed up to during the Qatar Airways Paris ePrix, joining other world class sporting events such as Roland Garros, the Tour de France and the Paris 2024 Olympic Bid.

Aside from using Vergne to offer advice on how to live a healthy and happy sustainable lifestyle, Formula E has also pledged to use locally sourced food at its events, use sustainable transportation methods to its events, provide an equal-opportunity working environment and many more.

“It is our collective responsibility to make changes to our lifestyle that are better for the environment,” said Vergne. “The FIA Formula E Championship is helping the fight against climate change by advancing the development of electric vehicles – a solution to inner-city pollution.”
